Getting started
Advanced topics
There are many aspects of reality, infinitely many. For the spiritual cultivator, in a practical sense, one has no choice but to ignore almost everything. But wherever attention is directed, there are hard won spiritual lessons to be learned. This is what life and reality have shown me.
Over the years, I've collected a long list of notes and observations on many topics. In time, I plan to organize, recollect, and express this material in a format that is hopefully more coherent and useful to myself, and consequently to others as well. I label these topics as "advanced" not because they are so difficult, but because each one in its own way builds upon the fundamental core concepts.
Up to now, this list is quite short. But I am committed to expanding it. The reader can check back from time to time to monitor progress. If there is sufficient interest, I could be convinced to maintain an email list of readers who wish to be notified when new content is posted. But I'll only do this if asked.
Note that I'm using alphabetical ordering for this list, due to the eventual large number of topics I expect to post here, as well as the relative independence of these articles from one another. Although it is not absolutely necessary to read the core concepts as prerequisites, I recommend doing so.
- Meditation - what is meditation, what happens in meditation, and what are the real benefits?
- Sensemaking crisis - is sensemaking really breaking down in modern society, how will this "crisis" unfold, and what can we do about it?
- Victimhood - what is victimhood, why does it matter, how does it limit us, and what can we do to move beyond it?
